Salary : At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees.

The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to : your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role.

The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range : $90,000 - $110,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

The Information Security Analyst - Cyber Investigations role will contribute to Wawanesa's success by helping to deliver investigation services to our enterprise client groups.

This role will ensure that Wawanesa's internal Human Resource and Compliance teams have the ability to identify internal employee non-compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides confidential investigation support to Wawanesa's Compliance and Human Resources teams while ensuring alignment with ethical standards and practices with a focus on digital forensics.
  • Follow established Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) practices and processes.
  • Author written reports on investigative results.
  • Contributes to the design and creation of investigation services reporting and best practices.
  • Contributes to reporting of metrics for management.
  • Researches and understands emerging technologies and concepts in the industry.
  • Keep technical knowledge current though continuing education and training.
  • Perform role in cyber incident response as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in an Information technology program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years IT experience with a minimum 2 years (preferably 5 years) of information security experience
  • Possession of / or working towards industry related certifications (such as CISSP, CISM)
  • Familiarity with digital forensic artifacts and incident response.
  • Experience with M365, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and other cloud technologies and platforms.
  • Must have an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact successfully with internal teams to build relationships and use facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to maintain trust and confidentiality in relation to sensitive investigations.
  • Working knowledge of security tools and technologies.
  • Experience with Splunk would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Magnet Axiom Cyber is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the insurance / finance industry considered an asset.
  • GCFA - GIAC Certification is considered an asset.
  • GCFE - GIAC Certification is considered an asset.
