Position Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager & Corporate Fleet Manager, this role oversees and completes all mechanical servicing of the company's commercial truck and trailer fleet as determined by the Fleet Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures and often performs regular and preventative maintenance on vehicles in accordance with established vehicle maintenance schedules
- Schedule and track all vehicle maintenance by maintaining service records for each vehicle, ensuring mechanical safety of all vehicles at all times
- Prioritize day to day vehicle running repairs based on daily log of repair issues & drivers input
- Supervise all shop activities, including coordinating work in repair bay
- Maintain a clean / safe work environment
- Work closely with vehicle manufacturers to see that all Da-Lees requirements and specifications are met
- Maintain a deep knowledge and consistently develop Da-Lees spray systems and vehicle accessories
- Maintain inventory of all shop supplies, including sourcing parts with suppliers, tracking purchase orders, coordinating parts pick-ups and deliveries, benchmarking parts pricing
- Partner closely with Dispatch / Customer Service to ensure vehicle maintenance and service intervals do not conflict with customer delivery requirements
- Communicate externally with suppliers, MTO, vehicle manufacturers (product support, warranty issues)

Education / Knowledge / Experience
310T Licensed MechanicDegree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Class G Ontario Driver's License; valid AZ Driver's License an assetFleet and Shop Manager certification an assetLift Truck operator training an assetAt least five (5) years' hands-on experience in truck and trailer maintenance, including chassis and suspension service, engine and driveline service, diesel engines, engine overhauls, air brake service maintenance, transmission service, electrical system service, hydraulic system serviceOwns collection of hand tools to complete standard preventive maintenance repairs
