Szturm in filling all necessary forms related to this grant. For example, assisting with the research ethics submission process and registering the study.

Also assists with purchases of equipment required for the study, considering Dr. Szturm's limited accessibility (via voice software) to web-based forms.

  • Coordinates appointments and meetings for the research team.- Performs various screening tests for informed consent, followed by assessments of balance and gait, as well as computer-based visuomotor and cognitive assessments of Parkinson's patients and able-bodied healthy age-matched controls.
  • Conducts dual-task (DT) balance and gait training interventions for Parkinson patients (stage 2 and 3) using custom virtual reality and cognitive game applications.
  • Conducts data conditioning and analysis using MatLab programs and various Excel functions for performance-based measures of balance, gait, visuomotor, cognitive functions, and dual-task functions.
  • Performs statistical analysis using SPSS and SAS for studying results, such as ANCOVA, multiple linear regression, and principle components analysis.
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentations, webinars, conference papers, and scholarly publications based on the study : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED : - Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline is required.
  • Completion of a Master's of Science in Rehabilitation preferred. - Degree in Physical Therapy is preferred. EXPERIENCE : - One year of directly-related experience is required.

Advanced expertise in the following is required : - Mat Lab for balance and gait analysis, - SPSS for statistical analysis (regression analysis correlation analysis, ANOVA - Graphic software e.

g. Corel Draw) for preparing of publishing quality figure / illustrations) - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Windows.- Experience with Voice Mail and electronic mail, photocopier, office phones, MS Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, familiarity and knowledge of U of M policies and procedures as they relate to CoRS.

Experience in and dealing with confidential material is required. Knowledge of PHIA & FIPPA is required. - Requires experience in the rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson's disease for balance and gait impairments.

  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : - Experience in coordinating projects and working with Indigenous partners required.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and organize a variety of events / tasks individually and for the team required.- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment required.
  • Tact and diplomacy are required.- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English are essential.- Ability to interact on behalf of the Project Leads / CoRS as a public relations liaison.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, students, and community partners is essential.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of initiative and to accept responsibility required.- Effective time management, highly organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills required.
