About the Opportunity
This position is a member of the Crisis / Urgent Care Service, Mental Health and Addictions. Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, the clinician provides advanced assessment, intervention, brief follow up and care planning for crisis / urgent care clients across the lifespan, with the goal of stabilization and connection to necessary mental and addictions services as required. The majority of consults are from the Emergency Department, but may also come from other services or departments, both internal and external to Nova Scotia Health. This position will also support ongoing crisis intervention training of local policing agencies for CIT certification, as well as be available to support close collaboration with CIT-trained police officers to improve collaboration, coordination, and communication between and among MHA and policing agencies.
About You

Two years related clinical experience (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and discharge planning) is required. If not available, candidates with less than two years’ experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Dev) HTH scale

40.18 - $54.14 hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental)
35.83 - $46.37 hourly
