Electrical Engineer

Objective :

Jazabuilds the batteries and charging systems control and monitoringsystems and integration hardware that underlies the infrastructurewe use to power communities.

We currently have 150 hubs and 50000batteries in our fleet. We have product market fit in multiplemarkets. We are on the 3rd generation of hardware and are confidentin it but have a lot of ideas for improvements.

We can iterate andimprove functionality of the batteries battery chargers and hubenergy systems using over the air firmware updates.

The roadmapincludes incremental improvements to existing hardware designs aswell as brand new products. We are looking for help to build theworlds best batterysystems.

TheElectrical Engineer will play a critical role as the keycontributor of electrical engineering and hardware design. As amember of our small but capable engineering team you will report toJazas CTO and will work with the engineering and leadership teamsto deliver on the companys mission.

You will be highly accountableto own your decisions your work and youroutcomes.

Responsibilities :

• Leaddesign and development of new electrical engineering designs andsystem architectures
• Optimize for developmentspeed and quality but stick to a budget
• Rapidlydevelop and test PCBs with minimalrevisions
• Work with suppliers and contractmanufacturers to produce hardware from samples to massproduction
• Design and execute test strategiesto ensure product reliability during all phases of product lifecycles
• Communicate frequently and developexcellent documentation
• Work to understand theuser and how they use the product
• Use yourexpertise to help direct the technology organization andstrategy

Requirements :

Weare open to candidates from any background however we believe theminimum requirements to excel at this positionare :

• 5 years experience designinghardware and PCBs for manufacturing at highvolumes
• Excellent understanding of lithium ionbattery packs and their protection circuitry power electronics DCpower systems used for battery charging analog measurements serialcommunications.
• Experience with testing andquality engineering
• Embedded systems andfirmware development is a plus
• Workseffectively on a small team greatcommunication
