Job Summary
The Staff Scheduler, under the direction of the Manager / Delegate is responsible for (but not limited to) maintaining schedules for various departments, using applicable collective agreement language, Southlake Policies, legislation, scheduling protocols to meet operational needs.
The staff scheduler is responsible for coordinating overall scheduling including but not limited to, filling short call needs, processing approved time off requests, processing approved scheduling changes including vacation approvals and approved LOA request.
The staff scheduler will also support the Manager / Delegate to ensure timecard accuracy.
Skills & Abilities
- A minimum of 1 year experience with scheduling in a unionized hospital environment preferred
- Requires experience in computerized scheduling and payroll
- Demonstrated proficiency in other computer programs preferred, such as Windows XP, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment and deal with frequent interruptions
- Ability to deal with conflict management and problem solving
- Effective organization, prioritization and time management skills
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
