Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain a world-class Lean Manufacturing environment at GVA Lighting, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate all daily manufacturing operations to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for increasing production throughput, reducing labor costs, improving product quality, and meeting on-time delivery targets set by the company.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate constraints, resolve capacity and shortage issues, and collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure effective and balanced plant operations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust tracking methodology to closely monitor production performance, ensuring monthly targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Generate, analyze, and provide feedback on various production and KPI reports, using data-driven insights to drive operational improvements.
  • Drive operational excellence within the department and teams through regular process reviews and real-time feedback based on measurable deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and develop supervisory staff, fostering high delegation, employee satisfaction, and retention.
  • Ensure proper training of employees in their respective areas of responsibility, including policies, procedures, and work instructions, while maintaining accurate training records.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs, improve labor efficiency, and optimize capacity utilization.
  • Oversee the manufacturing side of New Product Introductions, ensuring Design for Manufacturing principles are followed and promptly addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manage the hiring, terminations, discipline, and promotions process in collaboration with management and Human Resources.
  • Create a conducive atmosphere and provide leadership that enables each employee to utilize their full potential in achieving plant and divisional objectives.
  • Initiate, participate in, and actively support 5S activities, collaborating with process engineers, quality personnel, supervisors, and team leaders.
  • Demonstrate leadership in implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Document procedures and processes in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and company policies.
  • Take responsibility for budgetary planning and monitoring, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX).
  • Enforce the implementation and compliance with the company's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all employees are fully trained on EH&S rules and implement preventive measures to continuously improve overall safety standards at the facility.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the company consistent with the role of a Production Manager.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • 5+ years of management experience in project-based variable volume high mix high paced manufacturing environment (preference to electronics assembly).
  • Post-secondary diploma / degree, or equivalent job-specific work experience.
  • Working knowledge managing SMT lines.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software and ERP system.
  • Excellent leadership, management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong problem solver and confident decision maker.
  • MBWA practitioner and production floor discipline adept.
  • Experienced in lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma and 5S.
  • Data driven and highly analytical.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and motivating skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Quality and Safety oriented mindset.
  • Effective communicator, Russian / Ukrainian language knowledge is an asset.
