We are looking for an RF Engineer (LTE / 5G) to join our Networks team. You will be a key contributor in LTE / 5G network planning and optimization, new feature verification, performance and KPI analysis, parameter optimization, drive test and analysis, signaling analysis, troubleshooting for performance issues, etc.

Also, you will participate the projects of lab test, field trial and network rollout.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct LTE / 5G link budget, network planning for coverage prediction or capacity simulation with necessary site survey
  • Verify the LTE / 5G network function, performance, and new features in the lab and in the field
  • Collect, analyze and improve the performance (counters and KPI) of the network to meet the acceptance criteria
  • Audit, correct and optimize the RF parameters to improve the network performance
  • Design the test cases with the communications with the customer, conduct the lab test and field drive test, analyze the test data / log, output the test report with the suggestions to improve the network performance
  • Perform systems testing and verification, and troubleshoot or resolve the issues related to the network performance or products based on the signaling analysis and other methods
  • Conduct the lab test and field trial to verify the LTE / 5G features and output the accurate test reports
  • Support rollout activities and coordinate rollout actions, schedules and plans between customer technical team and Samsung Networks Team
  • Provide project RF support for trial / rollout projects plan, process, document, efficiency and quality
  • Perform and / or support SSV activities with Carrier partners and 3rd party GC’s
  • Take the RF responsibilities to collaborate with other teams to meet the network acceptance criteria for the customer
  • Provide professional document management for RF projects including product feature, user manual, process and acceptance documentation
  • Participate in regular project review meeting with customers
  • Individual contributions to the team are emphasized and requested
  • Contribute to RFI / RFP responses and support the sales team in the pursuit of new business

Skills and Qualifications

Education / Competencies :

  • Bachelor Degree or higher education in Telecommunications / Electronics Engineering / IT or equivalent
  • 5 to10 years’ experience in LTE / 5G RF projects in the main LTE / 5G vendors or operators
  • Knowledge of both LTE and 5G
  • Understanding of 3GPP, network interface protocols, protocol analyzers and network specifications
  • Understanding of wireless network implementation and operations services
  • Familiar with multiple Radio Access Network Technologies and RF tools such as planning tools, drive test tools, signaling collecting tools, etc.
  • Familiar with Site swap / relocation solutions and designs
  • Proactive, self-motivated and with good communication skills
  • Excellent team worker, particularly in cross-cultural teams
  • Stress resistance to manage in multi-cultural and geographically separated teams
  • Willingness to occasionally work over-time and travel based on the projects needs
  • Proficient in English
