Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic (CTVRC) is seeking a Medical Director to join our amazing team of veterinary specialists, emergency veterinarians and staff.
Who are we : Our hospital is a premier specialty centre, providing the highest quality of care for our patients, clients and referring veterinarians.
Our 24-hour, state-of-the-art facility provides care and comprehensive services in emergency, internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, ophthalmology, anesthesia, nutrition and oncology.
And we do it all in our tiny but mighty space! But good news, this coming summer of 2025, we will be moving into our beautiful new 30k square foot hospital about 7 minutes from our current hospital.
It will be a center of excellence with all the equipment, space and efficiency you could dream of.
Our hospital : We are well equipped with extensive diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring capabilities, state of the art surgical equipment including laparoscopy, arthroscopy, CT and digital radiology, in-house and external lab capabilities .
We will be adding ECC and Radiology to our new space.
Position Overview : We are seeking a Medical Director to lead our team of Veterinary Specialists, Emergency Veterinarians, and Support Staff.
The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing medical policies, team development, recruiting, business management, communication, and regulatory compliance.
The role will be 75% clinical and 25% management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Medical Leadership : Develop and maintain medical policies, support patient safety initiatives, and participate in teaching rounds and continuing education.
- Team Development : Collaborate on the hospital's strategic vision, manage scheduling, mentor the DVM team, and participate in team engagement and retention efforts.
- Recruiting : Lead the interview process for DVM candidates and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.
- Business Management : Review financial performance, participate in pricing discussions, and contribute to business outreach and development.
- Communication : Address client and referring veterinarian complaints, coach the team on superior client communication, and ensure compliance with medical records standards.
- Regulatory Compliance : Maintain hospital DEA license, ensure controlled drug policy compliance, and uphold Federal, Provincial, and Local regulatory standards.
Qualifications :
DVM degree or equivalent and 5 years of clinical experience
