We are seeking a Principal Consultant (Mining).

Description of Responsibilities :

As a Principal Consultant (Mining), you will have the opportunity to join one of the largest and most experienced mining teams globally, with a diverse cross-section of geologists and engineers.

The primary role of this position is to oversee and coordinate the efforts of subject matter experts during a feasibility study and the initial phase of construction. In this key role, you will serve as the central liaison between multiple stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Based in Montreal, Quebec, this two-year position offers the opportunity to work closely with our SRK Ontario team, including colleagues in Sudbury and Toronto, on an impactful and high-profile project.

Essential Requirements :

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or related field;
  • At least 15 years of practical experience in mining engineering, operations and / or consulting;
  • Professional registration with the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (OGQ) or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written French and English is required;
  • Experience with iron ore mining in Canada, specifically in the area of mining, geology and processing;
  • Sufficient knowledge of the main aspects of mineral projects to enable identification of study risks and opportunities;
  • Demonstrated project management skills;
  • Advanced level of interpersonal and collaboration skills;
  • High level of effective communication and leadership qualities while working in a team environment.

This position involves working within a multi-disciplinary team on a significant project nationally, therefore some travel may form a part of the role.
