Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Power Systems Electrical Engineer based out of Edmonton. The successful candidate will be accountable to provide their technical expertise, engineering knowledge of electrical power systems for utilities, heavy industrial clients and some commercial applications, business development, project management, leadership and mentoring of junior engineers as needed.

Position Description & deliverables :

• Engineering Deliverables & Compliance : Develops electrical engineering documentation such as specifications, calculations, reports, and requisitions while ensuring compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and project-specific requirements.
• Project Coordination & Supervision : Oversees day-to-day engineering interfaces between project management, engineering teams, and EPC / MOC contractors, ensuring effective collaboration across disciplines and alignment with project goals.
• Design Review & Vendor Documentation : Participates in design reviews and engineering changes, providing technical input and ensuring stakeholders are informed; reviews and approves vendor documentation for compliance with specifications.
• Site Surveys & Reporting : Conducts site surveys to assess existing installations, gather data, and provide comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations to inform design and execution strategies.
• Technical Support & Communication : Provides engineering support throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, acting as a liaison between various stakeholders and ensuring clear communication of technical aspects.
