Roles and responsibilities :
Lead and mentor the buying team, setting clear goals and performance expectations
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., planning, finance, operations) to plan purchases
Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities
Use ERP systems (IFS) and procurement tools to track orders and generate reports
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness
Independently carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFQs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.
Drive actions to mitigate potential delivery delays by identifying risks, performing root cause analysis and development of recovery plans to bring shipments back in-line with customer requirements.
Coordinates all activities related to procurement beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
Manages the release of RFQ’s and PO’s in accordance with company and government regulations.
Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
Assures material is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the
company.
Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of
records.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field
10+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle)
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proven track record of managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
Supply chain experience for an aerospace and / or Defense Company.
Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 5+ years related experience or an Associate Degree in a related field and 1+ years in a leadership role.
May be required to maintain security clearance
