Electrical Engineer – HVDC and FACTS Study Engineer
Join BBA Consultants in this exciting role where you will contribute to major HVDC and FACTS projects, from early-stage studies to implementation, and help shape tomorrow’s power systems. You will work closely with industry leaders, mentor the next generation of engineers, and represent BBA in technical committees.

Responsibilities
- Perform detailed HVDC and FACTS studies and apply them to complex power systems.
- Work with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Guide, mentor, and train junior engineers in HVDC / FACTS technologies.
- Represent BBA in technical committees and industry working groups.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities.
- Prepare and review reports, specifications, proposals, and estimates.

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering.P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration.At least 10 years of industry experience, including 5+ years in HVDC / FACTS.Expertise in HVDC / FACTS studies and related codes and standards.Expert PSCAD user.Proficient in PSSE.Strong communication and critical‑thinking skills.Ability to travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally for short‑term assignments.Project management knowledge (scoping, planning, estimating).Familiarity with electrical protection and control systems.Knowledge of IEEE, NEC or IEC standards.Knowledgeable in real‑time simulation.Benefits & Total Rewards
