As a Supervisor-Service Exchange Databases Infrastructure within our ITS Infrastructure and Data Centre Operations Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation and administration of Servers, Exchange, and Databases Infrastructure.
This includes ensuring the stability and integrity of all systems, as well as planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all infrastructure.
What will your typical day look like?
- Supervises a team of professional and technical staff, establishing performance standards and conducting performance evaluations, with direct input into hiring decisions and taking responsibility for team results.
- Oversees and co-ordinates the day-to-day operational management of the team.
- Implements and maintains appropriate operational processes and performance reporting procedures to maintain an efficient and effective operational capability.
Establishes procedures for monitoring and event management of infrastructure systems and applications, using data to benchmark, analyze, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and systems.
Implements accepted recommendations.
- Serves as project coordinator for infrastructure projects or as the point of contact for other projects requiring configuration, modification, and upgrades to the IT infrastructure.
- Recommends and performs infrastructure improvements, including upgrades and patching and ensures that infrastructure best practices are implemented and followed.
- Leads teams during infrastructure improvement work. Motivates and engages team members, conveys clear expectations for assignments, and holds people accountable for achieving their goals.
- Develops long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure continues to meet organizational requirements; including research, recommendations, and implementation of standards.
- Participates in creating and evaluating RFPs and tenders and participates in negotiations with vendors and contractors.
- Develops Service Level Agreements with internal and external providers or vendors for maintaining operational efficiencies.
- Develops business case justifications and cost / benefits analysis for the IT infrastructure spending and initiatives.
- Creates and reconciles procurement documents for goods / services or the maintenance / support renewals for the infrastructure, including budgeting / forecasting analysis.
- Monitors budget spending of specific projects and alerts the manager if there are any issues.
- Manages and oversees all third-party vendors and contracts, including vendor support personnel; manages on-site vendors and related security clearance.
- Oversees the installation and maintenance of the appropriate equipment, software, or tools and ensure that processes are maintained to provide uninterrupted operational capabilities, ensuring documentation is created and maintained, including ensuring accurate inventory controls (hardware and software licensing).
- Establishes procedures for problem escalation with appropriate support groups, both internal and external.
- Ensures appropriate physical / environment / data and systems security measures are in place for all Infrastructure components.
- Ensures that all assets are properly tracked, maintained, and utilized in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Monitors and maintains the entire system or application lifecycle, from deployment to decommissioning.
- Maintains a high level of technical knowledge of industry trends and products.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with :
A University Degree / College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One or more certifications in the following required :
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- Azure Database Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- Equivalent Certification(s)
One or more certifications preferred :
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Equivalent Project Management Certification(s)
What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $80,243.00 - $135,201.00 per annum.
Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($95,290.
00 - $135,201.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health / Dental and Life Insurance;
and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
