Must Have

Description

Responsibilities : Designing, developing and implementing front end code including user interface interactions and creating attractive and effective user interfaces Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming specifications, writing and / or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests. Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations.

  • Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Experience in design, code, test, debug and document applications
  • Experience in application design, latest design patters, deployment and troubleshooting
  • Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
  • Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using query languages
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

    • Desirable Skills :

  • Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications
  • Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues
  • Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  • Ability to provide user and system documentation as required

    • Experience and Skill Set Requirements

    The consultant must have the following number of years’ experience with the tools and / or products :

  • Java – 1+ Years
  • Oracle Database 1+ Years
  • DB SQL including DB Objects such as Tables, Views, Sequences, Store Procedure, Functions, Triggers 1 Year +
  • Angular JS v15+ - 1+
  • Javascript - 1+
  • Typescript - 1+
  • HTML 5.0, CSS - 5+
  • Node such as NPM - 5+
  • Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Boot) 1+ Years
  • Java Development IDE Tools : Eclipse, IBM RAD, IBM RSA, InteliJ, Visual Studio Code
  • Bitbucket – 1+
  • Experience with Responsive Web application development

    • The consultant who have any of these are a plus :

  • REST API
  • Hibernate / JPA
  • Maven
  • Solid Understanding of Agile
  • Object Oriented coding practices, including design patterns knowledge, refactoring, clean code.
  • Knowledge of major architectures style (message oriented, reactive, event based)
  • Rest API design and implementation (load balancing, discovery, resiliency)

    Java language knowledge and experience - 20%

  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience with the use of Java language
  • Java Development IDE Tools : Eclipse, IBM RAD, IBM RSA, InteliJ, Visual Studio Cod – 1+

    • Note : This position is currently listed as "Hybrid"; however, the consultant will be remote due to COVID-19 related Work from Home (WFH) direction. Once the I&IT cluster staff are required to return to the office, the resource under this request will be required to work onsite as well.

  • Hybrid : 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
