Job Description
This position reports to the Commander / Manager of Regional Communications and in his / her absence the Communications Superintendent / Deputy.
The roles and responsibilities include working in concert with call-evaluators and communication deployment specialists, while working within the EMD scope of practice.
This employee will provide IFT processing, emergency medical dispatching, pre-arrival instructions and deployment of emergency vehicles in emergent and non-emergent situations.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications Qualifications include : Grade 12 or equivalent. Current CPR, Level "C". Current EMD certificate with the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch, and certification as a Basic Telecommunicator with the Association of Public Safety.
Minimum typing (keyboarding) speed of 40 wpm. Other Communications courses / certifications recognized by Emergency Medical Services Division.
Competency in Communications and Deployment, System Status Management, Call Evaluation, and a high level compliance in all areas.
