Food Bank Program Coordinator

Position DescriptionHOURS35 hours per weekJOB SUMMARY To coordinate the food bank programTo recruit, coordinate, train and supervise the volunteers and placement students for the food bank and community outreach programsTo coordinate food deliveries and food donationsTo coordinate community outreach programs AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES1.

Programs Manage client intake and registrationCoordinate food orders and deliveriesCoordinate and manage food donations from individuals and groupsNetwork with the food bank sectorProvide hospitality to clients and make appropriate referralsManage the food bank areaWork with Colleges to recruit students to do their placementsManage and supervise foodbank volunteers and students doing their placementsEnsure cleanliness and maintenance of food bank space and appliances / equipmentWork with other staff including Administration / Communications Coordinator, Community Support Coordinator, Program Director and Executive DirectorJointly organize and coordinate 3 or 4 clothing pop-ups a yearOrganize and coordinate community outreach programs, as opportunities arise 2.

General Work with Program Director and Executive Director in the training of volunteers and placement studentsMaintain an organized environment in the main public areas, including the kitchen and where food is storedComplete other duties as assigned SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS A demonstrative, personal living faith in Jesus ChristDegree or certification in Social Work or related fieldProgram planning skillsComputer literacy (Microsoft Suite)Excellent interpersonal skillsFluent in English;

other languages an assetUnderstanding, patient, and sensitive to needs of clients and communityFlexible and adaptable, ability to respond to new situationsAbility to do some physical work i.
