The starting annual salary for this full-time School Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Eugene Reimer Middle School is a diverse learning community empowering the whole person toward individual success, community involvement and global citizenship.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to collaborative engagement with our team, possessing extensive knowledge and experience in social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, Universal Design for Learning, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction.

Education & Experience

University level preparation or significant experience in the Teacher Librarianship*

Training / Experience at the Middle School level

Demonstrated successful teaching practice using integrated technology

Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification

Eligible for B.C. Certification

Satisfactory teacher evaluation and / or final practicum reports

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective instructional design to co-plan, teach and assess learning.

Demonstrated ability to use digital literacy to develop students’ Core Competencies (Communication, Thinking, Personal and Social Responsibility and Cultural Identity)

Organization & Planning : Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment

Classroom Management : Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.

Facilitation & Engagement : Ability to capture and maintain students’ interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning

Assessment & Coaching : Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.

Collaboration & Teamwork : Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives

Caring & Inclusiveness : Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students

Flexibility & Adaptability : Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
