Job Description :

Please note that you must meet the following criteria in order to apply for this position :

1. Must be in receipt of OSAP or out-of-province assistance during the current or prior academic year (for summer work terms)

2. Must be registered in a full-time program at Algonquin College

3. Must be a domestic student at Algonquin College

Main area of responsibility for Student Event Staff is to prepare, serve and clean up from events and space bookings hosted on the Ottawa campus.

This could include completing table and buffet set-ups, preparation of service duties, setting up event spaces, serving of food and beverage to patrons, and cleaning event space throughout and after the event.

The incumbent must be able to work in a positive manner, within a team, while offering exceptional customer service to event clients and attendees.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Service of food items as per directed

Clearing and cleaning of event or banquet space, returning items to the correct location

Setting banquet tables or event space as per manager direction

Attending to various client needs as directed by the Manager

Required Qualifications :

Up to high school or equivalent

Anticipated Weekly Schedule :

Scheduling would include up to 20 hours a week. Evening and weekend availability is required.

This position concludes at the end of August 2024 with the possibility of extension.
