Technical Outside Sales – Edmonton, Alberta
Protek Safety & Controls is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Technical Outside Sales Professional to take ownership of our Edmonton territory. This position is designed for a seasoned salesperson with an Electrical or Instrumentation background who thrives in an autonomous environment, understands industrial markets and can drive growth.

What You Will Do
- Manage the Edmonton region while maintaining accountability for territory growth and client success.
- Maintain and expand a defined customer base through strategic planning, targeted outreach and consistent relationship development.
- Execute 10 to 20 weekly customer engagements, ranging from on-site meetings to technical lunch and learn presentations focused on application needs and project requirements.
- Engage confidently with engineers, procurement teams and facility leadership to position Protek solutions for both ongoing projects and long-term facility planning.
- Document all relevant communication and client interactions using Protek’s CRM and reporting tools.
- Submit weekly sales call reports summarizing meeting outcomes, technical needs, applications and upcoming opportunities.
- Work alongside our Inside Sales Team to prepare accurate quotations that include competitive intel, delivery expectations, application details and follow-up recommendations.
- Conduct routine follow-up on all open quotes and document lost opportunities with clear detail for future strategy.
- Represent Protek with a professional image, including wearing Protek-branded apparel while in the office or meeting clients.
- Maintain a clean and reliable vehicle with valid insurance and proper maintenance.
- Participate in off-site customer development activities such as lunches, dinners and industry events, subject to management approval.
- Travel for technical training, commissioning support, trade shows and manufacturer visits as required.
- Work from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Participate in annual performance reviews including account activity analysis and potential redistribution of under-serviced accounts.
What You Bring
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical outside sales experience within industrial, electrical, instrumentation or hazardous location environments.Strong ability to manage a territory independently and make strategic decisions that support revenue growth.High level of professionalism, communication skills and confidence in front of clients at all levels.Solid administrative discipline, including CRM use, accurate reporting and consistent follow-up.Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel as required.Ability to wear Protek-branded apparel during office and client visits (provided by Protek).Why Join Protek
