Now recognized as one of Toronto’s best examples of Art Moderne architecture, The Carlu has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada and has played host to royalty on several occasions. As the preferred space for high profile social fetes, conventions, and corporate celebrations. In 2003, the space at 444 Yonge St. in College Park reopened as “The Carlu” event venue after an extensive restoration.

Job Description
Our Bartenders take pride in their food, wine and spirit knowledge. They build relationships with their guests and are often asked for by name. They display natural showmanship, have great communication skills and an eye for detail. A Bartender receives beverage orders and makes beverages in a timely and efficient manner maintaining all O&B standards. They also communicate beverage descriptions and modifications with team members to ensure guests receive their requested beverage.
The Day to Day :
Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of serviceKnowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to make recommendationsPromptly receive drink orders and pour all beverages according to O&B standardsPresent beverages in a clear and organized manner at the service bar pick up areaCommunicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team membersSetup and take apart bar area, dishwasher and cappuccino machineStock and maintain all bar products including mis en placeCheck and maintain beer keg and liquor levelsCount and take inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory orderingBe aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergiesOther duties as assigned or requiredQualifications
At least 2 years serving and bartending experience in a similar environmentProServe Certification a requirementHigh attention to detailAbility to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environmentOrganizational skills and sales abilityAbility to multi-taskStrong oral and written communication skillsHigh level of product knowledge, including wine, spirits and cocktailsAbility to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentumAdditional Information
