Position Overview
The Finance Analyst / Project Controller is the point person for all accounting and finance needs for the project. This position interfaces directly with project and district-level management, providing trusted insight into the project. The primary focuses of this position include evaluating project costs, data reporting / analysis for management, budgeting / forecasting, and internal controls. This role is likely to evolve into a project controller position with similar responsibilities as described below but assigned directly to a project.
District Overview
Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.
Location
This position will be mainly based out of our Laval with some expected travel to project sites.

Responsibilities
- Utilizes historical and trending data to validate forecast, and follows Company standards for cost and revenue reporting
- Shows eagerness to learn details of the business to better understand and communicate financial reports and data
- Supports Operations team with decision making by identifying, quantifying, and communicating financial risks and opportunities
- Manages employee performance using the division of responsibilities, clearly communicates expectations and goals, and provides coaching and radically honest feedback during employee performance reviews
- Follows and implements proper internal controls, and acts as main point of contact for any internal or external financial audits
- Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive change
- Earns trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from Operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization
- Displays first-rate customer service skills - willing to help with a positive attitude when / where needed, and be helped with gratitude
- Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered as an asset since mobility across provinces in Canada is required. Lessons can be provided as needed.
Qualifications
5 years business administration, accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and taxDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related programExperience using SAP is highly desirableHighly skilled in Microsoft ExcelEffective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skillsStrong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality resultsAbility to work independently, as well as part of a teamHigh level of professionalism and standardsTravel and / or relocation may be required for this position (up to 50%) Must be able to travel and / or relocate as business needs requireOther Requirements :
