EPCm POX Project Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The EPCM POX Project Manager will lead planning, engineering, procurement, and construction management activities for a multi‑billion‑dollar mining development within specific constraints of time, budget, and scope. This role is responsible for managing project execution across all technical disciplines, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. They will serve as the central hub connecting stakeholders, team members, and leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic and remote project environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the planning, engineering, and execution of the POX and O₂ systems in alignment with the process plant and production objectives
- Manage the EPCM contractor and ensure seamless integration with other project work streams including power, process, and infrastructure
- Oversee the design, procurement, fabrication, and construction of the POX autoclaves, O₂ plant, and associated utility systems
- Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure designs meet metallurgical and operational requirements
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans consistent with governance framework
- Conduct constructability reviews and ensure safe, efficient execution strategies for POX and O₂ installations
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and applicable regulatory requirements
- Oversee commissioning planning and handover to operations, ensuring full alignment with business readiness plan
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining the highest standards of technical quality and safety
- Prepare regular progress reports, financial summaries, and status updates for leadership and key stakeholders
- Promote collaboration among engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain integration and accountability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with EPCM partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum 20 years of large‑capital EPCm project management experience in POX, mining, or major infrastructure projects.Skills & Competencies
Ability to direct and manage a large cross‑functional team, set goals and objectives, and align the team toward achieving those goals.Proven experience managing large capital projects and interfacing with Tier 1 EPCm contractors.Knowledge of POX regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.Experience working in cold‑climate or remote logistics environments.Familiarity with greenfield projects and seasonal constraints.PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.Leadership & Communication
