Senior DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer. Working with the Information Systems team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our DevOps infrastructure, ensuring seamless software deployment, scalability, and security.

Leveraging your expertise in DevOps methodologies, you will enhance operational efficiency, lead transformative projects, mentor team members, and drive the adoption of best practices, ensuring software is optimally delivered.

This is a remote full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Spearhead the planning and implementation of our cloud transformation strategy, ensuring streamlined and impactful utilization of cloud resources
• Lead the design, implementation, and improvement of DevOps projects, build and release pipelines, including changes to pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Azure DevOps setup, while ensuring their ongoing maintenance
• Train, coach, and mentor stakeholders on Azure DevOps and Git version control best practices
• Advocate for DevOps best practices to the DevOps Guild
• Provide constructive feedback and technical recommendations across teams
• Oversee code and documentation reviews, share knowledge, provide feedback, create efficiencies, and brainstorm ideas feedback to ensure that team outputs are held to the highest possible standard
• Work with the Infrastructure team to test and resolve issues deploying new hardware / software
• Troubleshoot issues and support development teams with project deployments to stage and live environments
• Research and evaluate new technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborate with other teams to plan our cloud deployment strategy, ensuring proper utilization of cloud resources
• Document procedures, proactively communicate and mentor team members to ensure best practices are being followed

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Post-Secondary Education in Computing Science or equivalent (ex. Computer Engineering Technology, Information Systems Technology)
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
• Expert knowledge of DevOps principles
• Experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure Cloud or AWS, Google Cloud, cloud agnostic)
• Proficiency with DevOps Pipelines (Azure or Gitlab, GitHub Actions, other CI / CD solutions)
• Strong knowledge in Terraform and Ansible (or Bicep, ARM) to efficiently implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript for Node.js and web applications
• In-depth knowledge in PowerShell
• Advanced proficiency in Docker to optimize and streamline development and production environments
• Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm would be considered an asset
• Understanding of .NET Core, SQL Server, Vue.js, Selenium, and test-driven development would be considered an asset
• Experience administering in Windows and Linux environments
• Ability to manage NuGet / NPM Feeds
• Knowledge of testing fundamentals : Unit Testing and Integration Testing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members would be an asset
