We are seeking a Director of Safety to lead and manage all safety-related initiatives across our construction operations. This role will ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and minimize risks for employees and our subcontractors. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a deep understanding of safety in construction environments and a passion for continuous improvement.
Duties :
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead, Coach and Manage the entire safety department and direct reports.
- Liaison any conditions with department of labor as applicable.
- Collaborate in developing and managing the safety budget and performance goals aligned with strategic objectives.
- Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to site teams, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Prepare and present reports on safety performance to senior management.
- Collaborate with the HR and senior management team to ensure optimal return-to-work practices, risk reduction and employee wellbeing.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Your experience & abilities
Bachelor’s degree in OHS, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Certifications such as NSCO (National Construction Safety Officer), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or equivalent.10+ years of experience in construction safety, on residential and commercial projects.Proven leadership experience in safety program management.Strong knowledge of OHSA standards and other applicable safety regulations.Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively train and mentor diverse teams.Proficiency in safety management software and tools.Strong team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a diverse project team.What we offer :
