Job Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of food services across five (5) Toronto-based sites that includes delegating tasks, motivating, and coaching up to 25 hourly employees as required
- Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management, record keeping, follow up, and modification based on client volumes
- Assist with flow of day-to-day operations on the floor to ensure that all clients are treated with respect and empathy
- Assist with training and development of staff; experience managing in a unionized setting is preferred
- Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always enforced
- Assist in dealing with staff related issues such as vacation requests, progressive discipline, etc.
- Ensure adherence to all of ARAMARK’s Policies and Procedures
- Ensure adherence to ARAMARK’s Health and Safety Policy
Qualifications
- Post-graduate diploma from an accredited Food & Nutrition Management program is preferred
- Active membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) is an asset
- Two (2) Three (3) years food service management experience in long-term care, corrections, or residential community is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership; decision making; problem solving and communication skills
- Working knowledge of health and safety, employment, and human rights legislation
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Working knowledge of managing unionized labour force, as applicable
- Good knowledge of nutrition and safe food handling certification
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when making decisions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to clientele and coworkers
- A valid Ontario’s driver’s licence and own vehicle is preferred for travel to other local sites
