Site Supervisor

Our clientOkanagan Urban Contractors is a West Kelowna based company offeringgeneral contracting services including Custom home constructionresidential renovations commercial tenant improvements.

Known fortheir reliability and excellent workmanship they are committed toproviding high quality construction and service to their customers.

With each project that they take on they strive to develop alongterm relationship with clients through respect transparency andtimely service which is completed ontime and onbudget .

Theyhave an immediate need for an experienced Site Supervisor to jointheir team. The successful applicant will be responsible to managethe daytoday site operations and will be responsible to ensure thatsubcontractors are fully executing and complying with theircontracted scope of work to ensure timely completion of projects.

The ideal candidate will have a background in property improvementseither residential or commercial must be detail oriented able toproblem solve and enjoy leading a team.

Otherresponsibilities will include :

• Reviewconstruction documentation and site conditions to assess projectcosts andrisks;
• Developand maintain controls for project schedule cost change ordertracking subcontractor management and jobsite safety to ensureprojects stay on schedule and onbudget;
• Leadthe project by example and keeping resourcesfocused;
• Managelabour equipment materials and subcontractors to ensure all areonsite asrequired;
• Meetproject objectives schedules policies procedures and performancestandards in accordance with companyobjectives;
• Completehandson site work with tools as needed (carpentry back framingetc);
• Readand interpret construction drawings plans layouts details andspecifications as well as troubleshoot details to ensureconstruction is going according toplan;
• Performquality control duties andresponsibilities;
• Coordinaterequired inspections with localjurisdictions;
• Identifyany subcontractor noncompliance in regards safety and / or qualitystandards;
• Identifyany issues in the construction progress and communicating them tothe project manager forresolution;
• Ensureall work orders and repair requests are processed in a timelyfashion;
• Coordinatelogistics planning ordering and pickup / delivery of materialssupplies and equipment to thesite;
• Attendweekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work for theweek;
• Ensurethat the job site is always kept in a clean and organizedmanner.

Requirements

• 3years experience specifically working in residential and commercialconstruction;
• Experienceworking in carpentry isrequired;
• Previousrenovation experience is considered anasset;
• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate ispreferred;
• Ahigh level of building science knowledge will berequired;
• Proficiencyin MSOffice;
• GoldSeal Certification considered a strongasset;
• Postsecondaryindustry related diplomas or degrees are considered anasset;
• Abilityto read and interpret constructiondrawings / blueprints;
• Exceptionalverbal and written communicationskills;
• Abilityto work on tight deadlines with a demonstrated ability to problemsolve and adjust to changingtimelines;
• Strongorganizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritizeand work on several projects atonce;
• Abilityto maintain a highquality work with a strong attention todetail;
• Anindepth understanding of the construction industry operations andprocesses;
• Knowledgeof local quality safety and health guidelines for construction jobsites;
• Asolid understanding of current buildingcodes;
• Youwill be required to supply your own reliabletransportation.

W eanticipate offering the successful candidate a base pay ofapproximately $35.00 to $45.00 / hour dependent upon previousexperience and organizationalsuccess.

Thisis a fulltime opportunity that comes with an excellent totalcompensation package. Travelin this role is limited and would only be required between thecities of Penticton and Vernon.
