Head of Sales and Marketing

Full Time, Permanent

British Columbia, Hybrid, Penticton, Richmond

Travel : Up to 40% initially, after onboarding falling to 25% with market-share and sales target success.

THE OPPORTUNITY :

Our client is a leading supplier of thermal wood products, taking a disruptive approach and operating in the rapidly evolving building products market, particularly among North American consumers.

They are renowned for providing sustainable and innovative solutions to the construction and design industries within the Built Environment.

Come join their tight-knit team of professionals as the Head of Sales and Marketing .

This role will involve assisting and refining ongoing and developing initiatives, leading and executing a marketing strategy to create demand for ThermoWood® among architects, designers, builders, and homeowners, in support of the company’s import distribution channels across North America.

This position involves travel, comprising at least 25% of the time, attending outreach client meetings, product development meetings with new buyers, and vendor / trade shows.

We are seeking someone who can cultivate relationships with potential clients and is skilled at transitioning these relationships to internal sales professionals.

The ideal candidate should have a deep appreciation for fine wood, a passion for problem-solving, a strong desire to learn and grow within the industry, and solid experience with digital marketing strategies, customer targeting, and engagement.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY :

  • Creating and maintaining a sales funnel strategy, including developing leads, and capturing new business while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Engaging Architectural & Design firms and Contractors to educate them about products.
  • Travelling to trade shows, client meetings, and various industry events to educate prospective buyers on our products.
  • Maintaining the company’s branding strategy, including graphic standards, and messaging policies.
  • Designing and developing advertising and graphics strategies within the brand guide, for sales tools and corporate materials.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, creative agencies, and other marketing services vendors.
  • Overseeing and executing digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including social media, email, website, and SEO / SEM.
  • Reporting on and analyzing campaign data to improve performance and ROI.
  • Staying abreast of trends and tools, collaborating on integrated marketing strategies.
  • Overseeing the development of trade tools, campaigns, and programs, and managing key trade marketing materials, such as sample programs, point-of-sale materials and retail education programs.
  • Developing case studies from sales programs and campaigns.
  • Supporting internal and external communication, including trade media inquiries.
  • Leading the sample program, including orders, budgets, and inventory management.
  • Aiding in organizing trade events and promotions.
  • Maintaining events calendar and tracking inventory for promotional items.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 7-10 years of Sales and Marketing experience with a B2B focus (forestry, construction or building products experience will be an asset).
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, economics, marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Canva and / or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign) will be an asset.
  • Experience with CRM systems and HubSpot Marketing Automation platform.
  • Demonstrated experience in targeting audiences and crafting effective campaigns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships with peers and customers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Motivation and drive, eager to learn and continuously enhance skills, keeping up to date with the latest marketing and design best practices.
  • Strong creative, copywriting, and editorial skills with the ability to simplify technical information for a general audience.
  • Ability to navigate and adapt to fast-paced developments within this emerging product sector as it recaptures market share from non-wood alternatives.
  • Deep appreciation for wood and a passion for the adoption of wood-related products.

COMPENSATION :

  • $150k 175k base pay, annually plus incentives.
