We are hiring Operating Room Registered Nurses at St. Paul's Hospital, who thrive in a fast-paced environment and play a critical role in life-changing surgical care!

As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients / residents receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
• Make referrals to resources as needed.
• Support fellow healthcare professionals.
• Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.

What You Bring

Education :

• You must be a registered nurse in Canada in good standing and be eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Completion of a post graduate operating room course, or two years’ recent experience in an equivalent setting

Skills and Abilities :

• Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
• Experience in teamwork, decision-making and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
• Proficient in clinical leadership.
• A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field.

Your Day to Day :

• Conduct thorough patient / resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient / resident needs.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care.
• Monitor patient / resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient / resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
• Identify and address patient / resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary.
• Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
• Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient / resident care policies and procedures.
• Advocate for patients / residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
