Job Title : Structural Engineer Job Description

Responsible for structural engineering on large-scale oil sands and thermal projects. This includes designing and reviewing concrete foundations for heavy rotating equipment, structural steel frameworks, and pipe support systems. The role involves stakeholder interaction, oversight of design deliverables, and ensuring compliance with Canadian and Alberta codes. Engineers will collaborate with piping teams for stress analysis and support design, and provide guidance on pipe racks, bridges, and cable trays.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial facilities, including pipe racks, bridges, and cable tray supports.
• Develop engineered concrete foundations for pump bases and rotating equipment.
• Review and approve structural drawings and calculations prepared by designers.
• Interface with stakeholders and project teams to ensure alignment on design requirements.
• Provide oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta and Canadian structural codes and client specifications.
• Collaborate with piping engineers for stress analysis and pipe support design.
• Prepare technical reports and participate in design reviews.
