As part of the Finance team supporting the TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods ("TAC") portfolio which includes global business operations, you will join a team which has a wide scope of responsibilities and opportunities, and act a trusted business partner to help achieve challenging business growth.

You will actively participate in projects and initiatives within developing markets contained in a number of our growth areas as well as our expansion into an exciting emerging business.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, TAC Product & Engineering you will be an integral part of the Finance team. You will be leveraging your innovative and entrepreneurial approach to provide insightful advice and recommendations to emerging business leaders to achieve their financial goals and influence key decisions to drive profitable growth.

You will partner with internal stakeholders, across the organization and internationally, as well as financial professionals, in the presentation of financial results.

In addition to leading the financial reporting and planning processes, you will oversee the integration, standardization, and enhancement of the acquired companies' financial processes and procedures, giving you the opportunity to make a difference in this emerging business

Here's How

Be a trusted advisor to the TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods team

  • Be the business partner for the Product & Engineering business units and take ownership of the FP&A processes for OPEX forecasting, CAPEX forecasting, business case analysis, and product profitability
  • Team up with the Product & Engineering teams and drive interlock on labour forecasting assumptions
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure capital forecasts are in line with accounting policy
  • Provide updates through the semi-monthly CAPEX reporting process
  • Analyze product profitability for TAC products and provide insights to the business on risks and opportunities
  • Lead and coordinate the financial reporting and planning processes for the Product & Engineering business units, including monthly risks and opportunities analysis, variance analysis, monthly forecasts (triage), annual budget, and strategic planning requirements.
  • Partner with primes and key stakeholders to prepare executive level summary reports and presentations to support decision making
  • Analyze results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to forecasts and budget processes
  • Progress best practice financial processes and governance framework, continuous improvements and operational efficiencies within the TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods operational areas
  • Support ad-hoc financial and operational analysis as required

Qualifications

You are the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Valued for your 3-5 years of relevant experience in a finance / accounting position in a large, complex and dynamic organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Recognized for your extensive knowledge in accounting principles and practices
  • Respected as a strong collaborative team player with ability to build strong relationships in a cross-functional team environment
  • Known as a self-starter who is willing to "roll up your sleeves", step outside your sandbox when required, and operate nimbly to drive execution / to meet deliverables
  • Able to apply innovative and creative ideas and solutions to complex issues, along with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action
  • Able to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities and anticipate roadblocks
  • Proven track record with the creation and assessment of complex financial reports
  • Strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

  • Software as a Service or Technology industry background considered an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in AgTech or B2B industry
  • Experience with resource, labour, and capital planning
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with Google workspace
  • Exceptional in-depth Microsoft (MS) Excel and PowerPoint skills
