We are looking for an IT Vendor Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
This position is 100% onsite in downtown Calgary. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.
Role Description
The IT Vendor Analyst will partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to understand IT requirements, support vendor‑sourcing strategies, and maintain optimal vendor performance. In this role, you will help manage a multi‑million‑dollar D&IT maintenance portfolio, support Managed Services partner engagement, oversee vendor billing and reporting, and other activities that ensure vendor services don’t disrupt the Company’s business functions. The Vendor Analyst drives value through strategic vendor partnerships across infrastructure, software, and services while ensuring compliance with IT standards and monitoring service levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT maintenance and support renewals proactively to prevent service gaps and ensure continuity of technical support.
- Support the full lifecycle of software licensing and contracts, including potential engagement in schedule development, negotiations, reviews, modifications, terminations, Statements of Work, and Change Orders.
- Collect and support accurate budgeting, compliance, inventory, contract, and vendor data; develop reporting to support management decision‑making.
- Collaborate with IT teams to confirm service performance, software utilization, and key operational metrics; respond to stakeholder requests for inventory and contract data.
- Identify and pursue cost‑saving and rationalization opportunities across IT renewals, licensing, and services, coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and Supply Chain Management to achieve targeted savings; create Purchase Requisitions and resolve escalated invoicing issues as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
2 to 5+ years of experience in an IT vendor analyst or IT analysis role.Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.Demonstrated experience in IT vendor management, contract analysis, and cost optimization.Experience with SAP, Maximo, and OpenInvoice (including purchase requisitions and purchase orders); familiarity with Salesforce and ServiceNow is an asset.Ability to understand IT contracts across multi-disciplines, including software licensing terms and conditions.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to support process and control improvements.Excellent customer service orientation, communication, and collaboration skills for engagement with vendors, IT teams, Management, and business stakeholders.Ability to adapt quickly within a fast‑paced, evolving, and occasionally ambiguous IT environment.Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, with the ability to think creatively and drive improvements.Please note that while all applications are appreciated, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
