Project Details :
The objectives of the In My Yesterday Digital Connections project is to provide valuable experience and support for a SSHRC Connection Grant application, to investigate new and creative methods of communicating my family’s immigration story, reaching broader marginalized and racialized communities.
The Research Assistant would assist in the preparation and writing of the SSHRC Connection grant application, ensuring a well-prepared and competitive submission.
Responsibilities :
- Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, JJ Lee, in support of the project’s research goals and objectives of writing a SSHRC Connection Grant by the November 1, 2024, deadline.
- Assisting with data collection, literature searches, data compilation, processing, entry and analysis in support of the project’s research goals and objectives
- Assisting with research activities in the lab and within the field
- Assisting with the writing, editing and preparation of proposals, progress and final reports
- Assisting with the promotion of research activities
- Assisting with project coordination, budget management and administration of research activities
- Participating in the provision of safe and secure environment for all members of the University community and its facilities
Qualifications :
- Completion of a relevantundergraduate / graduate degree or current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program and / or equivalent training and professional experience
- Where relevant, sound knowledge of, and commitment to, healthy and safe work practices
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications and problem-solving skills
- Experience with proposal and grant preparation, writing and submission within the arts sector.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and faculty
Hours of Work : 5-10 hours per weekover the period of June 17, 2024 to November 1, 2024 (20 weeks)
Work Environment : Opportunity to work onsite at OCAD University and remotely.
Compensation : $33.78 (Grad Rate) $21.34 (Undergrad Rateper hour, subject to qualifications, plus 6% in lieu of benefits plus vacation pay, as applicable, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act
