Jardeg is recruiting a Marine Mechanic to join the Suncor Fort Hills project team on site near Fort McMurray Alberta. This is a permanent position with a shift rotation of 14 days on 14 days off shift schedule. Camp accommodations and charter flights (from Calgary or Edmonton) provided by the company. Marine Mechanics will aim to assist the Marine Support team at Suncor Fort Hills.

The function of this position is working with the Tailings maintenance team to ensure that the Fine Tailings marine fleet and the equipment are properly maintained through both short term and long-term maintenance strategies. TheMarine Engineer / Mechanicwill execute repairs and regular maintenance of our fleet of our workboats barges dredges and associated equipment. As part of the maintenance team the Engineer / Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting problems as well as implementing solutions. A good understanding of shipboard hydraulic propulsion units winches and crane systems would be considered an asset.
