Minimum Qualifications :
- DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract required
- Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
- Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications :
- Ability to drive manual transmission
- Previous experience in winter-works operations
- Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
- Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements
Day in the Life
Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a spreader, plow wing, combo unit and / or tow plow, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements.
When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs.
You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand / salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.
