What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced strategic, data-driven performance marketer to join the Ownr team as a Performance Marketing Specialist, delivering all paid performance campaigns for the platform.

Reporting to our Senior Growth Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for both developing our overall paid performance strategy and plans and then implementing those plans in the marketplace in ways that drive acquisition growth for the brand.

You will control all of our performance efforts across paid search, social, native, and programmatic platforms, among others.

You will work collaboratively within the marketing team, as well as cross-functionally with product, design, and analytics teams to drive experimentation across our paid channels whether that be with content, creative, new or existing channels, or any combination of the above.

Also, you will use your analytical skills to read and interpret performance trends of current campaigns, testing results, and other data sources in order to develop the next steps in an always-optimizing paradigm.

What will you do?

Lead performance marketing strategy including goal setting, channel allocation, creative strategy, and measurement / optimization

Develop, implement, and optimize performance campaigns across all performance channels such as paid search, social, programmatic, native, etc.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of key platforms, especially Google and Meta, including their AI offerings and advanced bidding applications.

Manage substantial budgets, optimize bid strategies, and enhance cost-per-conversion metrics.

Showcase strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data from various sources. Leverage insights to make informed, data-driven decisions that propel campaign performance forward.

Identify opportunities and implement tests / experiments to prove hypotheses and recommend performance optimizations. Take principled risks to "find new winners" through channels, creative tactics, tech applications, and more.

Utilize knowledge of customer journey funnels to develop campaigns that support both short-term and long-term acquisition goals, tailoring strategies to various stages of the customer lifecycle.

Communicate weekly performance and spending updates, focus on insight vs data, and make recommendations for optimizing paid campaigns

Contribute to strategic documents and discussions that help align multiple teams at Ownr and RBC

Provide impeccable financial stewardship to ensure budgets are grounded in sound data and strategy and forecast spend and performance with precision and efficiency

Work collaboratively with the marketing, sales, product, and design teams to ensure paid advertising efforts are aligned with broader organizational objectives.

Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in paid advertising, including AI applications. Apply innovative approaches, experiments, and continuous learning to drive superior results and maintain a competitive edge.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors and providers, maximizing ROI from all paid advertising channels.

Utilize digital marketing and analytics tools such as HubSpot, Amplitude, Metabase, and Google Suite to full effect.

What do you need to succeed?

5+ years experience in performance marketing roles

Expertise across performance marketing channels, from SEM to paid social to programmatic display / video advertising (experience with native, affiliate programs, streaming video, and direct marketing is a plus!)

Fluency in testing methodologies and related advantages and limitations

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to formulate hypotheses, next steps, and strategic adjustments based on data and evidence.

Excellence in project management

Strong interpersonal skills that encourage partnership, promote enthusiasm and foster strategic thinking

Nice-to-have

Fluency in French
