Our client, in the energy sector, requires a senior Corporate Accountant for a 6 month contract with the possibility for extension. The successful candidate will have extensive corporate accounting experience and hold a CPA designation.

Responsibilities :

• Assist with month end and quarter end activities in the corporate accounting department
• Account for compensation, including long term incentive, severance and vacation accruals
• Accounting for debt financing and cross-currency swap entries
• Involvement in merger and acquisition, divestiture analysis and accounting
• Monthly and quarterly variance analysis
• Account reconciliations - preparation and peer review
• Review and mentorship of junior staff
• Process efficiencies and improvement, along with any other ad hoc requirements
