CASUAL PART-TIME REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST
As part of the inter-professional team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist plays an essential role in providing quality and patient / family centered care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides therapeutic and diagnostic services to patients with compromised cardio-respiratory status and related conditions.
Rate of Pay : $39.501 – $54.878
Job Duties
- The Respiratory Therapist will provide care to patients and support to the health care team within multiple departments including; Pulmonary Function Lab, ICU, Acute Medicine, Endoscopy Program, Surgical Inpatients, Perioperative Care, and the Emergency Department
- Travel to Four Counties Health Services as needed
- Position Available Immediately
Job Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory TherapyCurrent general registration in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)Current BCLS certification requiredCurrent ACLS certification preferredCurrent NRP certification preferredNeonatal and pediatric experience preferredRecent 2 years experience within an adult acute care settingDemonstrated skills and ability in ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management and mechanical ventilationDemonstrated proficiency in adult oral endotracheal intubation, adult arterial blood gas sampling, and adult tracheostomy management and careDemonstrated knowledge of the respiratory care, support and critical care management of adult critical care patientsDemonstrated knowledge and maintenance of respiratory, resuscitation and anesthesia related equipmentDemonstrated knowledge, assessment and perform pulmonary function testingExperience with administration of conscious sedation preferredExperience assessing and monitoring patient vitals signs and ETCO2 during procedures preferredDemonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and vascular accessEvidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learningDemonstrated ability to assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organize work and maintain accuracy and concentration during periods of high activityDemonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care teamDemonstrated excellence in attendanceUnderstanding and use of good body mechanicsCerner experience required, as well as basic computer skills in aWindows environment
