The Application configuration specialist role will help ensure the optimal utilization of COTs and custom software systems by providing configuration enhancements, support and training and quality assurance.

To succeed in this role, you should be highly collaborative and flexible, have excellent organizational, time management and communication skills, as you will be collaborating with colleagues and external suppliers in helping teams deliver results on tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

• Gathering and analyzing business requirements to determine the configuration needs of COTs or custom applications.
• Setting up software applications based on the specifications and requirements. This includes defining user roles, permissions, workflows, and other settings.
• Modifying and customizing the application to ensure it fits the unique needs of the organization, which may involve writing scripts or coding.
• Conducting thorough testing to ensure that configurations and customizations work as intended without causing issues.
• Creating and maintaining documentation related to configurations, customizations, and any changes made to the application.
• Providing ongoing support, troubleshooting issues, and performing regular maintenance and updates to the application.
• Training end-users and other stakeholders on how to use the configured application effectively.
• Working closely with other IT professionals, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the application supports business processes and objectives.

Education and Experience Required

• 7+ years in application configuration and support
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Technical skills related to configuring enterprise level COTS software
• Strong experience in creating and maintaining Workflows, Business Rules and Reports
• Strong understanding of application security models
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Experience with SDLC and IT change management processes
• Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint),
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• Experience with SQL queries and procedures is an asset
