Job Description
Arista’s Linux Kernel team develops and maintains the Linux kernel in EOS. It involves keeping pace with upstream developments, integrating new kernel releases, designing and implementing kernel features, and collaborating with the upstream community to incorporate changes. Kernel software engineers also manage CPU subsystems across all Arista products, evaluating new CPUs, integrating vendor support, and qualifying new hardware.
Who You’ll Work With
The kernel team works closely with hardware engineers, vendors, the kernel community, system test engineers, customer support engineers, and other kernel engineers. It requires strong software engineering across all development aspects and ownership from definition to deployment and customer interaction.

Additional Information
The new hire base pay ranges from $95,000 to $145,000, varying by location. Base pay depends on skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and location. The pay range reflects base pay only; additional roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity. Sales roles may participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, income protection and a Group Retirement Savings Plan.
