METHODS ENGINEER

Scope of Position :

Reporting to the Manager Product Definition, the Methods Engineer is responsible for developing manufacturing integration concepts, determining assembly processes / sequences, manufacturing bill of materials, and tooling requirements while ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and maintaining configuration.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop manufacturing plans and tooling requirements based on advanced engineering concepts and forecasted production rates.
• Estimate assembly flow-time, production hours, and parts count for new project proposals.
• Conduct feasibility studies for manufacturing automation.
• Determine assembly breaks and parts separation to suit plant layout and capacity.
• Conduct design reviews and deliver technical presentations on manufacturing plans.
• Plan, sequence, and maintain methods instructions for major and final assemblies.
• Provide advisory support to production and related departments on methods processes, cost, and schedule improvements.
• Offer technical assistance to production and serve as a technical interface between engineering, quality, tooling, and production teams.
• Investigate, analyze, and provide corrective actions to resolve acute and chronic production issues related to processes and tooling.
• Perform detailed analysis and provide necessary inputs for raising engineering change requests.
• Incorporate engineering dispositions into rework instructions to restore non-conforming parts and assemblies to the originally designed product integrity and quality.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Experience :

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in methods engineering in the aerospace sector, preferably on Bombardier programs.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering 2D drawings and 3D models; familiarity with Bombardier aerospace tools and standards.
• Knowledge of aerospace Material Review Board (MRB) processes and production shop floor practices is desirable.
• Excellent understanding of aircraft structure and system installation technical requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, sequence of installation, and requirements for functional test procedures.
• Comprehensive understanding of aircraft materials and hardware, industry practices and standards, as well as aeronautical engineering standards and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound engineering judgment, high sense of commitment, and willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently.
• Initiative and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in aerospace, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
