The Opportunity :

We are looking for a highly skilled Leader!

The CPMO Lead is the driving force behind a professional team of seasoned project managers and the successful delivery of a diverse project portfolio in a complex, innovative, matrix environment, to ensure we deliver on our strategic objectives by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to be a “Leading Health Solutions Partner”. The CPMO Lead also ensures alignment of initiatives against business goals, manages teams, and communicates results across a broad stakeholder audience.

This strategic vision includes a project portfolio of transformational, innovative, enhancements, lifecycle management, and operational support initiatives within a complex technology landscape. Key responsibilities :

The CPMO Lead manages a team of up to 10 senior professionals, provides direction and coaching in support of performance management, career growth, succession planning, and ongoing development. In addition, builds strong relationships with stakeholders, IT, and business through influential leadership, situational awareness, responsiveness, and works within ambiguity.

You are driven to be innovative, creative, and willing to try new approaches. Your strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills will be utilized to mature our processes, proactively address key stakeholder impacts, and effectively bring together project management with project delivery and governance. You will have the opportunity to build and develop project delivery to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.

As a CPMO Lead, you will be able to support the day to day as well as our CPMO continued growth and maturity to advance how we execute project delivery as an organization. You can lead projects throughout the entire project life cycle and have an advanced skill set to motivate other project management professionals with effective communication and a high degree of emotional intelligence. You will also develop a deep knowledge of our business and work with a team of exceptional people to deliver exciting projects across multiple platforms.

Required experience :

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Project Management with demonstrated delivery leadership abilities over a diverse portfolio of project types with varying levels of complexity, across multiple industries, using multiple project management methodologies.
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience including coaching, career and performance management, hiring, and project delivery accountabilities for a team of senior project management professionals.
  • Practical experience maturing project management frameworks which align to best practices for project delivery.
  • Direct hands-on experience developing and producing a wide range of portfolio reporting artifacts for various audiences up to Executive Leadership.

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems business administration, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
  • Certification :

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Security Clearance Requirement :

  • To be successful in this position you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date. This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
  • Knowledge and Skills :

  • Full knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and frameworks.
  • Expertise in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of tools used in project management (such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Office Suite, Jira,
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, and multitasking to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex problems into issues that can be clearly communicated and resolved.
  • Well developed client facing, internal and external, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional influencing skills with an ability to engage at every level of the organization.
  • Proven success with stakeholder management, risk management, and change management, dealing with multiple leadership levels in a complex matrix project environment.
  • Proficient understanding of project governance models for complex, multi-stream initiatives.

  • Monitors and reports CPMO portfolio status, dependencies, issues, and risks.
  • Develops and delivers accurate and timely reporting for areas of accountability to senior leadership.
  • Resource and Stakeholder Management :

  • Manages staff allocations to address the priority and needs of the organization.
  • Works with others to “get the job done” by establishing & promoting effective working relationships with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Continuous Improvements :

  • Identifies areas for improvement to mature our CPMO project delivery by implementing lessons learned from historical projects.
