Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for Traffic Control People / Labourers , who have a good knowledge of safety around equipment, an eagerness to learn, and a strong work ethic. In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a temporary, full-time position of Traffic Controller and Labourer reporting to the Road Foreman. We are currently hiring in Smithers, B.C. and may require some travel throughout our great province.

Responsibilities

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Work collaboratively with all team members to successfully complete tasks at hand
• Ability to perform unskilled manual work requiring little previous training or experience but involving physical effort
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner
• Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities
• Maintains a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs
• Stop, slow, and safely direct traffic through work or construction sites
• Give traffic control directions and signals clearly and precisely so that motorists understand their meaning
• Keep the flow of traffic moving with as few delays as possible
