JOB DESCRIPTION / OVERVIEW :
The Legal Counsel will be a key player in the legal team, providing expert guidance in
corporate legal matters, debt structuring, and other related legal activities.
The role is critical in navigating the legal intricacies of EV leasing and charging infrastructure, including carbon
credit generation and other government incentives, ensuring full compliance with relevant
government regulations, and managing contracts effectively.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the legal challenges of a fast-paced, environmentally conscious business
environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Corporate Legal Work : Handle a wide range of corporate legal matters,
including debt structuring, corporate governance, and general legal
counseling.
EV Leasing and Charging Infrastructure : Manage legal aspects related to EV leasing
and charging infrastructure, ensuring that all operations are in compliance with
applicable laws and regulations.
Regulatory Compliance : Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all relevant
government regulations in the EV and renewable energy sectors.
Contract Management : Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements with
stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and customers.
Legal Strategy and Risk Management : Develop legal strategies to protect the
company’s interests and minimize risk. Provide legal advice to management on
various business issues and decisions.
Collaboration with External Counsel : Work with and manage relationships with
external counsel as needed.
Requirements :
Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
Proven experience in a similar legal role, particularly in corporate law, debt
structuring, and related fields.
Experience in handling legal matters related to (EV) leasing and / or charging
infrastructure is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of government regulations in the EV and renewable energy
sectors.
Excellent legal drafting and contract management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, environmentally conscious business
environment.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
