Baker Tilly REO LLP is seeking a Student to join our growing team for September to December 2024 or January to April 2025.

Your primary responsibilities will include :
Preparation and development of skills under the guidance of a manager / senior staff member in a wide variety of areas relevant to your studies including but not limited to :
- Preparation of personal, corporate, non-profit organization information and charitable tax returns
- Execution and completion of a wide range of Audit, Review and Compilation engagements, both independently and as part of a team
- Bookkeeping basics including entry and reconciliation of monthly and quarterly bookkeeping assignments including but not limited to payables, receivables, bank statements, credit card statements and journal entries, GST / HST and source deductions using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Accounting basics including preparation and analysis of general ledgers and monthly financial statements, calculation of fixed assets and depreciation as well as preparation of other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
A successful candidate will have :
- Enrolment in an accounting program
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and technical competencies to execute work at the direction received up front from other experienced staff using Caseware / Caseview, TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online and / or any other tax preparation software.
Any prior experience with these programs is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Sound judgement regarding confidential information and sensitive matters
- Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines
- The ability to accept feedback and apply feedback to future engagements
