Position Summary :

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Technical Lead plays a critical role in guiding and informing all technical aspects of the OSCAR product roadmap.

The Technical Lead is responsible for planning, architecting, estimating, and managing the delivery of large projects in the OSCAR PRO and JUNO products.

As the Technical Lead, you will be called upon to have a wide view of all technical work that the OSCAR team is performing, ensuring that key technical designs and decisions and aligned to long term goals.

You will be responsible for providing technical support to the rest of the team and will be a key enabler, ensuring that constant progress on the projects you oversee is obtained.

Where technical coaching and guidance is required by the team; you will play an active role in helping to support the team’s growth and development.

What you will be doing :

Develop and Build Integration with Alberta CII / CPAR

Develop technical designs for a service capable of integrating against Alberta’s Community Information Integration & Central Patient Attachment Registry system.

This system will be delivered as part of a new service-based architecture and will require establishing a number of new integration and authorization patterns inside various EMR systems including JUNO and Oscar Pro.

Integrate Oscar Pro and Juno into Polaris

Design and implement a component to integrate the Oscar Pro and Juno EMR systems into the new Polaris platform using FHIR, Change Data Capture and other ETL tools and techniques as appropriate.

The integration will require bi-directional synchronization between the new Polaris FHIR based data repository system and the Oscar Pro and Juno EMR systems.

Provide leadership to the rest of the team through the development of clean, well tested and well documented software. Lead by example.

You have :

You a re a full stack developer with experience in the both backend (Java and Node) and front end (Angular,React) with some technical and people leadership experience.

You aren’t scared off by working in large code bases and can work effectively and safely with legacy code systems. You enjoy working on problems that you feel are important to the world and really value the mission of what your work is looking to accomplish.

  • You have experience in the healthcare sector and understand the FHIR standard.
  • As a Technical Lead, you can iterate through designs at a high level, refining a plan in place before stepping down into the challenge of breaking down the work.

You balance the need to document design with the reality that designs need to change. You are able to communicate effectively and invest appropriately in building estimates as plans become firmer.

As a manager, you are comfortable coaching other developers. You seek out data as the foundation of your opinions and guidance.

You advocate for your reports and seek out ways to put them in positions which obtain the best results for both the individual, team and business as a whole.

  • Git and Gitops . Comfortable with Git and the Gitflow branching model as well Gitops principles.
