We are currently looking to fill a Casual opportunity for a Cardiovascular Technologist at Royal Columbian Hospital located in New Westminster, B.C.

Detailed Overview

Under the general supervision of the manager and per the Cardiologist, the Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for monitoring a patient’s ECG & hemodynamics during various invasive procedures such as heart catheterizations and angioplasties as well as specialized procedures performed in the Cardiac Catheterization laboratory including but not limited to PFO, ASD, VSD, LAA closures, TAVI, carotid angiograms and angioplasties and septal ablations.

The CV Tech analyzes the information gathered during these procedures, conveys it to the Cardiologist during the procedure and generates standard reports for each procedure. The CV Tech maintains equipment as required; assists in setting up and calibrating the equipment for each procedure.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience : Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology. Two (2) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Cardiology Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) and / or CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) credential.
