Job description

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Relational Security Services Officer to fill a position at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.

In accordance with established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Supervisor, Relational Security Services, the Relational Security Services Officer maintains and enforces security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include :

  • Acute Care
  • Internal medicine
  • Ultrasound
  • CT scans
  • Surgery
  • Emergency department
  • Extended care
  • Pediatrics
  • Radiology
  • Obstetrics
  • Gynecology

Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.

Prince Rupert is a marine-based port city with one-of-a-kind wilderness exploration and wildlife viewing experiences on northwest BC’s Pacific Coast. It’s also a popular stop on various Alaskan cruises. Located 721 km (447 miles) west of Prince George on Highway 16, Prince Rupert is the land, air, and water transportation hub of British Columbia’s North Coast, and home to 13,500 people.     Qualfications

  • Grade 12, successful completion of recognized Basic and Advances Security Training certification.
  • One-year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Holds Valid BC Security Guard License with applicable handcuff endorsement.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
