Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy and managing the handling of returned and damaged products. This role plays a key part in supporting warehouse efficiency, product compliance, and reverse logistics. The Inventory Control Specialist works cross-functionally with the Distribution Centre and Customer Service teams to ensure timely investigation and resolution of discrepancies while identifying areas for continuous process improvement.

Hours of Work : Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm; evenings and weekends may be required based on operational needs
Location : Travel between 2930 14th Ave, Markham and 65 Ferrier St, Markham as needed
Responsibilities
- Perform counts for expired products, and sort by flavor for Government inspection.
- Perform scheduled cycle counts. Investigate, resolve, and report inventory discrepancies between physical stock and system records in a timely manner.
- Bin‑locate new products to assigned locations and re‑locate the existing products to designated locations based on the replenishment analysis that is updated regularly.
- Receive, verify, and process returned inventory, ensuring accurate documentation, condition assessment, and appropriate disposition (restock, quarantine, or destruction).
- Evaluate and classify damaged items based on defined criteria (e.g., stamp condition, packaging integrity, product leakage, or expiry).
- Prepare non‑sellable inventory for destruction following internal SOPs and external regulatory compliance (e.g., flavor separation, expiry tracking, or government inspections).
- Investigate discrepancies in returned or damaged goods, elevate unresolved issues, and recommend process improvements to reduce recurring errors.
- Maintain clean, organized reverse logistics and quarantine areas to ensure safe and traceable handling of non‑sellable inventory.
- Support cross‑departmental needs to resolve inventory or RMA‑related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Participate in inventory audits, recall counts, and regulatory compliance checks.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties assigned to support inventory operations.
Experience & Background
High school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations preferred.Proficient with WMS / ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Physically capable of performing labor‑intensive tasks such as bending, lifting, etc.Must have no issues working at heights if needed.Reliable, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.Driven to constantly improve and to assume more responsibilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
