Title : Individualized Participant Services (IPS) Coordinator

Location : Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)

Position : Full-Time Monday – Friday 8 : 30AM-4 : 30PM

Salary range : $58,000-$68,000 with an opportunity to receive a performance-based bonus.

Job Description & Position Overview :

Metro Community Living (MCL) is an organization funded by the Department of Community Services (DCS), namely the Disability Support Program (DSP).

Job Description :

Metro Community Living (MCL) has been empowering individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as mental illness, to actualize their goals and pursue their interests in Nova Scotian communities for over 30 years. MCL’s teams strive to be leaders in the disability support sector and strong collaborators with the Department of Community Services (DCS).

The IPS Coordinator plays a key role in :

  • Participant planning and active support to MCLs participants and their direct support teams
  • Business development by supporting the expansion of MCLs Independent Living Support (ILS) program to support more individuals in their communities of choice.
  • Human resource management by providing leadership and supervision to MCL’s direct support teams.
  • Operations to ensure that participants’ environments are in accordance with MCL’s program standards as well as health, fire, and safety regulations.
  • Administration by following MCL’s standard operating procedures to support MCL’s program functions.

  • Qualifications :

  • Valid NS Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  • Clear and current criminal record check with vulnerable sectors.
  • Education and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the Human Services sector is considered an asset.
